It is known that the fertilized soils in Germany have a low selenium content. The selenium content of the plants is determined by the content in the soil. Because of its essential health importance, the body should always be sufficiently supplied with selenium. Selenium plays an important role in maintaining a number of complex functions and processes in the human organism. In cases of unbalanced diet and special physiological conditions, the additional supply of selenium can therefore be useful.Even environmental influences, exhaust gases, smog, ozone, sunlight, pleasure poisons and stress can lead to the formation of aggressive substances. These substances are called free radicals. Free radicals can influence the balance of metabolic reactions.The supply of selenium supports the immune system.

The simultaneous use of vitamin C should be avoided. The time interval should be at least 1 hour, otherwise the positive effects of selenium and vitamin C mutually increase.Sodium selenite capsules are not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
